Design and analysis of a quasi-TM<sub>03</sub> mode <i>G</i>-band extended interaction radiation source

چکیده
A disk-loaded coupled cavity structure operating in the quasi-TM03 mode has been used here to develop a high electron efficiency, output power terahertz radiation source, demonstrating that it is possible concentrate axial field energy along source’s central axis within large cavity. Compared with traditional extended interaction devices at same frequency band, of this present device provides sizable beam tunnel capacity can support efficient conversion between and field. The developed optical system based on cylindrical 0.3 mm radius capable producing current 0.65 bias 16.4 kV. Particle cell simulations show such new design approaches achieve kilowatt-level 0.22 THz efficiency 11.5%.
